Troy Luley has set the school record for the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 59.47.
Troy shares his thoughts on breaking a record.
“Breaking a school record has been a goal of mine since I started swimming for New Hartford, and I’m proud
that I finally got it. The previous record holder, Hassan Abdelwahed, was one of my best friends on last year’s team, and it was always my goal to beat him.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to break my own record again
at states and next year.”
His father Ryan Luley said “I’m very proud of Troy. Of course I am proud of his accomplishments of breaking multiple records, but I am most proud of his
determination and the hard work he has put in to reach his goals.”
Outside The Pool
Hobbies: reading, watching sports with his family, and playing cards with his friends
Sports teams: New York Yankees, New York Giants, Tampa Bay Lightning, Syracuse Orange, Utica Comets, and Utica City FC
Movie: Troy doesn’t have a particular favorite, but he loves anything Marvel or Star Wars.
