Video games can either be a pro and a con it just depends on what you make it. Video games are one of the most popular entertainment activities for teenagers and kids today but parents/others still think it’s too much. Many believe limits are necessary for health and responsibilities. Others also think kids should be able to manage and get off on their own time too. This has created an ongoing debate about whether adolescents should have limits on how long they spend playing video games. Limits can help students avoid sitting in front of a screen all day and get you to go do something.
Braylon Ewing believes limits can help young adolescents stay healthy and responsible because it can negatively impact young people. He said that “ Most kids should know when and when not to get on and off video game consoles.” He also said that around “2=3 hours is a reasonable time” for gaming. Braylon also pointed out that many kids break their limit set by parents or even themselves.
Jace Sandwich also agreed that limits can be helpful for young gamers and said parents should trust their children to make the right decisions and get off at reasonable times. “Why even buy your child a game console if you don’t trust them to get off at a reasonable time.” Jace says. Jace says “2-4 hours” a day of video is just the right amount of time for young adolescents to not have a negative impact on them.

Both Braylon and Jace agree that gaming can become unhealthy when there are no limits. Too much gaming can cause lack of sleep and less physical activity. Also both students brought up that many use video games to relax, have fun, and socialize with their friends.
Overall this showed that most believe that limits should be a thing and enforced. Video games can be a fun and entertaining way to have fun but you have to limit your fun
