Is Driver’s Ed worth It?
Driver’s Ed is a big topic in high school and many wonder what comes with it, how it is, when it is, and how do you sign up. New Hartford Senior High School offers a summer driver education program for students, you require
a learners permit or drivers license to apply and start the course. The program includes behind-the-wheel training, insurance discounts, and allows you to have a senior license at 17. The journey to getting your license is very hectic and stressful but young drivers are given and taught the techniques of driving a vehicle. Drivers Ed is a good way to learn the rules of the road before getting behind a wheel.
“When thinking about whether drivers are worth it, we believe it is. There are a lot of rules and laws in place for drivers. From time to time, these laws and rules change or new ones are added in. By taking Drivers Ed, it can help teach new drivers the most up-to-date and current driving laws/rules for their state. You can also save money on your auto insurance by taking a Driver’s Ed course, as many car insurance companies will offer you a discount if you can show you completed a driver training course. Plus, it can prepare you for when

you go to the licensing office to get your learner’s permit. Having learned the details in the course will help you pass the written test” says Nigel Tunnacliffe. With Nigel’s point of view maybe you can realize the knowledge and experience you can gain is worth it so recommend taking it. Nigel is the co-founder and CEO of coastline academy, the nation’s world’s largest driving school.
Jack Lemura, a student at New Hartford Senior High has completed driver’s education and only has good things to say about it. “ The class segments feel super long and it’s easy to zone out so it’s challenging to stay focused. But I think Bisacia’s driving instruction when we were actually behind the wheel was really helpful, ” says Jack. In my opinion I think drivers ed is very worth it and everyone has a different way of seeing drivers ed but not only do you get to practice how to drive, but also get a 10% reduction on car insurance.

“Yea I think drivers ed is worth it. I feel like it definitely prepared me for the road test. More importantly, taking it made my insurance cheaper and it also allowed me to get my advanced license “ says Jack. I totally agree and think it’s worth it because you are getting benefits and experience at the same time.
Driver’s Ed is a chance no one should miss on and everyone should take it given the chance. Being able to practice and prepare for your road test ahead of time allowing you to get your senior license at 17 is also a blessing. Given the chance for driver’s ed don’t miss out and take advantage of it.
