Musicals bring joy and laughter and it gathers people together. New Hartford Central school puts on a good show and successfully entertains everyone. This year they performed Anastasia. I enjoyed the play a lot. The students and staff did a really good job. The diversity in the voices and talent amazed many people.
I decided to interview some students at New Hartford who participated in the play and also a teacher’s input on the work they had done.
Revae Kwikowski is a senior at New Hartford Highschool, She was in the ensemble in the play and she has been doing plays for thirteen years.
MJ: “Do you enjoy participating in the Newhartford theatre, If so what did you get out of it?”
RK: Yes, I get to live out my childhood dreams of acting even though it might not be big its still gives me that feeling of accomplishment
I think Revae built years on this hobby and really does good work with this and keep good motivation.
MJ: What was your favorite part of the play ?
RK: “meeting new people and the excitement before the curtain was opened”
I really liked how Revae answered honestly and showed a good point of view. I also interviewed a teacher to get her input.
Lastly I wanted to get another perspective and decided to interview a teacher, Mrs. A who teaches at New Hartford High School and attends the school musicals.
“The students did such a great job bringing all of the characters to life that it’s hard to pick just one favorite! I was definitely rooting for Anastasia and the grandmother in their search for family. I also thought that Gleb, the villain, was interesting. I liked watching him battle between his feelings of duty towards his father and country and his sympathy towards Anastasia, who was an orphan like him”
Overall, musicals bring so many different backgrounds together and create a nice small community with music. I think its a nice way for people to express themselves and interest in music.
