Which one is the best?
Sit back, relax, and take a bite of your favorite cookie while New Hartford Central School Students share with you what cookies they have grown to love throughout their childhood.
Almond Paste~
“My favorite Christmas cookies are almond paste cookies. I like almond paste cookies because they taste good and they’re special because my family makes them together,”Sophia Cittadino, a sophomore at New Hartford Senior High, said. “I prefer homemade cookies because they are made from the heart. Almond paste cookies are only for Christmas because it’s a unique cookie that my whole family comes together to make.”
Chocolate Meatballs~
“My favorite Christmas cookies are chocolate meatballs. It’s my favorite cookie because the chocolate is very rich and the texture has a nice crunch which makes the cookie ten times more enjoyable.” David Fanelli, a junior at New Hartford Senior High, claimed, “The cookies are homemade and I prefer them to be so. I think these cookies are exclusively for Christmas.”
Sugar Cookies~
“My favorite Christmas cookies are sugar cookies. They are my favorite because they taste very good, and the cookies are homemade. My mom usually makes them; I prefer to have them homemade. I would consider my mom’s sugar cookies exclusively for holidays, not just Christmas,” Tommy Goodelle, a sophomore at New Hartford Senior High, said.
“Sugar cookies are my favorite Christmas cookies. They’re my favorite because of the frosting and sprinkles on top. The sugar cookies I eat are homemade from my mom and I prefer them that way. My mom doesn’t necessarily make them just for holidays, she’ll make them for whoever enjoys them,” Cal Randall, a sophomore at New Hartford Senior high said. This displays how important cookies and food in general is when it’s made by family and friends from the heart. Homemade cookies are not just seen as incredibly yummy but also a bonding experience for many.
“My favorite Christmas cookies are sugar cookies. I actually prefer them store bought, I’ve liked them since I was a kid. They are not just for holidays because I eat them frequently year round. I also like the cookies because they look very pretty even though they are not homemade. My dad brought me to the store and I remember thinking how beautiful they were, and ever since then I’ve been hooked,” Sammy Rockford, a sophomore at New Hartford Senior High claimed.
Cherry Cookies~
“ My favorite Christmas cookies are cherry cookies. Cherry Cookies are my favorite cookies because they taste very good and my mom makes them,” Payton Alberico, a sophomore at New Hartford Senior High said, “I prefer them homemade. My moms cookies are usually only for Christmas.”

Overall, It can be said that people’s favorite cookies often correlate with family traditions and childhood. Out of the six people interviewed three said sugar cookies were their personal favorite; the question is what’s your favorite?
