Thanksgiving, A holiday that brings joy and reconnection. Thanksgiving is a great time to celebrate things that you are most thankful for. It’s a social gathering that reminds people who they have to support them and their needs. Recognizing small details is important.
Many people have their own ways to celebrate Thanksgiving. So what makes Thanksgiving a good holiday? I wanted to gather some input from students to answer this question.
“Having a loving family to enjoy good food with. I still sit at the kids table, with my cousins which is definitely my highlight of thanksgiving. In my family we have a tradition where my Aunt puts placemats out onto the table. I like to color my placemat. It reminds me of my childhood,” said Anayla Thompson, a senior.
Family traditions are really important; it’s what makes families unique and having something different to look forward to.
I got similar input from another student, when I asked the same question, What makes a good Thanksgiving holiday?
“I would consider Thanksgiving one of the best holidays because I personally really enjoy getting to spend time with family members I never get to see anymore and eating good food. I would also consider it a good holiday because it’s like the official start of the Christmas season.” Luna Pauley, a senior, said.
“As the country became more urban and family members began to live farther apart, Thanksgiving became a time to gather together,” David J. Silverman wrote https://www.britannica.com/topic/Thanksgiving-Day
Thanksgiving overall is big for family time, It helps gather people together. Spending time with loved ones and eating your favorite foods.
Would you consider Thanksgiving one of the best holidays? Why or Why not.
“Yes, I kind of love to eat, and any holiday where I get to get pretty and eat. I also love seeing my cousins and go black friday shopping after,” Anayla said.
This holiday is a time for reconnection. Families and friends come together and celebrate according to their own traditions.
“In appreciating others and expressing our gratitude to them, our communication may become more positive and effective, leading to stronger relationships.” https://www.calm.com/blog/the-science-of-gratitude
Thanksgiving has all of the benefits, bringing joy and family and good food.

What are you most grateful for?
