Ms. Hennessy is a 10th grade biology teacher at New Hartford high school. She is known for her outgoing and bubbly personality.
“My favorite thing about Ms. Hennessy would have to be how kind she is,” said Addison Mykel, a sophomore student at New Hartford. “She always has a smile on her face and I love how positive she is.”
Ms. Hennessy went to SUNY Oneonta and SUNY Cortland. She was always interested in science and knew she wanted to be a science teacher. During college she originally wanted to become an ecology teacher and later changed her mind to biology.
In an interview with Ms. Hennessy shared that her favorite thing about teaching is “seeing and interacting with the students and watching their growth over the course of the semester.”
When Ms. Hennessy isn’t in a classroom teaching, she enjoys spending her free time being on the go whether it’s mountain biking, skiing, or snowmobiling with her two kids.
Students who have had Ms. Hennessy as a teacher always have nothing but great things to say about her. She is a supportive teacher who cares for all her students and it shows. her class room is a positive space filled with laughs and smiles from both Ms. Hennessy and the students.
“My favorite thing about Ms. Hennessy is that she is very understanding of your problems or situations,” said Stella, a student in her class.
