Masque transports People Back to 1812

New Hartford Masque puts on the smash hit Broadway show, Natasha, Pierre, and The Great Comet of 1812.

New Hartford’s Masque got the honor to be one of the first high schools to be able to perform the musical Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812. Based on 70 pages of War and Peace the play explores themes of love, betrayal, and self discovery.

Amelia Kramer, Staff Writer

Amelia Kramer, sophomore, shares a love for both history and writing, and is a student-athlete here at New Hartford Senior High School. She shares a love for learning about the world, and how the world worked many years ago. Taking this journalism class is a way for Amelia to show off and exercise her writing abilities, all while expanding her writing skills. Some of Amelia’s hobbies include tennis and softball, which she plays here at New Hartford, showing her great involvement within the athletic department, and her strong capability to take on the difficult role of being a student athlete. Her sports are her passions, and she takes great pride in being a student-athlete at our school. After graduating, Amelia plans to go to school and study to become a nurse. She also plans to visit Europe and travel, seeing the many aspects of the world, both good and bad, which she has not yet seen, using her love for learning about history and her skills of creative journalism.

Evie Ruggiero, Staff Writer

Evangelina (Evie) Ruggiero, class of 2026, has a deep passion for the arts. She loves all things writing, and anything artistic. She enjoys drawing, painting, and experimenting with any media she can get her hands on. As well as her art, Evie has a passion for soccer. She's a goalkeeper, and she plays all year-round. She watches soccer every chance she gets, and her favorite team is Tottenham. Her biggest goal is to extend her soccer career into college. With her creative flare, Evie wants to study Communications/Marketing, and get a job in public relations or advertising. She wants to be able to use her English skills in her career. Her favorite classes are her Art and English classes, as she feels that's when she's most in her element. She does best in creative environments. Evie is taking journalism for her love of writing.
