From hallways filled with themed outfits to a crowded stadium under the Friday night lights, Spirit Week and Homecoming 2025 reminded everyone what it means to be a Spartan. This week was filled with laughter and tradition. Whether it was dressing up for spirit days, cheering during the pep rally, or finishing the week with a dance, each day brought its own excitement. It united the community and highlighted the school pride that New Hartford Highschool has.
Monday, September 22 kicked off spirit week with a comfy, cozy pajama day, Tuesday was tacky tourist/crazy hair day, Wednesday was country, country club or wild west day, Thursday was sports team/ jersey day, and Friday was red and blue day.
On Friday, September 26th there was a pep rally in the gym where the cheerleaders and football players performed a fun routine. The choir sang New Hartford High School’s alma mater. Teachers and seniors participated in a pie in the face competition and red light, green light. And by the looks of it the teachers and students enjoyed the pep rally.
Also on Friday, September 26th there was a home football game at 6:30 pm. The theme for the night was Hawaiian so attendees were encouraged to wear tropical outfits! The stands were filled with color and energy.
On Saturday, September 27th a homecoming dance sponsored by the PTSA took place in the cafeteria from 7:30 to 10:30. It was well-attended; approximately 380 tickets were sold. There were refreshments and fun props for pictures making this a perfect way to end the week. Most students said they had a fun time.
Homecoming isn’t just about football games or dances; it’s about celebrating school spirit and community. It gives a chance for students to interact with their peers and make lasting memories. It’s a week that truly brings everyone together.
