A lot of good came from this year’s spring sports with multiple TVL Conference titles and players with personal accomplishments.
Now Let’s look at how each New Hartford sport team did this spring.
NH Baseball
The baseball team had a great year by going 13-4 and finishing 2nd in the TVL. They were the #2 seed in the Class A bracket and also made it to the sectional championship and had some great wins this year beating Proctor and Cortland.
“It was a great year overall. We had a young team and were not expected to go as far as we did, but had great team chemistry and were led by an outstanding coaching staff,” commented senior Jack Taylor.

NH Softball
The softball team had a great season by going 13-7 and finishing 2nd in the TVL. They got the #1 seed in the Class A bracket and also made it to the sectional championship for the second straight year and had great wins against RFA, Camden, and Whitesboro.

NH Boys Lacrosse
The Boy’s Lacrosse team went 11-5 this year and finished 1st in the TVL again and hasn’t lost a TVL game since the league was created. The team got #2 seed in the Class C bracket and made it to the semi-finals and had great wins against Burnt-Hills, General Brown, and Homer.

NH Girls Lacrosse
The girl’s lacrosse team went 10-6 this year and finished 1st in the TVL for the second time ever. The team earned #6 seed in the Class C bracket and played in the quarter finals. Season highlights include great wins against Cazenovia and RFA.

NH Boys Track
The boys track team had a great season with all 3 of their relay teams going to sectionals and state quals. The boys track team had three sectional winners with junior Josh Knapp winning pole vault, junior Byrcen Gaiser in Pentathlon, and Senior Antonio Camarra in 110 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles. Their 4×100 relay was a hundredth of a second away from breaking the school record, and 4×100, 4×400, and 4×200 got qualifying times for nationals.
Senior Dylan Merrill said, “Just all around our team this year was the best it’s been in a while.”

NH Girls Track
Girls track team had a good season with ten plus people going to sectionals and with two people winning sectionals. 8th grader Laney St.Croix won the 3000 meter race and Junior Ashlee Fisher won the 100,200, and 400 events for sectionals.

NH Boys Tennis
The boy’s tennis team went 2-8 this season and did not participate in this year’s sectionals, but some individuals had good seasons like David Berg who went 8-2 in singles and 4-0 in doubles, he qualified for singles in sectionals, and Derek Berg went 8-1 in singles and 3-0 in doubles.

NH Boys Golf
The boys golf team went 10-1 this season and won the TVL championship. The golf team won sectionals with freshman Tommy Goodelle leading the way by having the best score during sectionals. Five players qualified for the State qualifier and two of them made it to states which were sophomore JP Lazzaro and freshman Tommy Goodelle.

NH Unified Basketball
Unified Basketball had a team of nine members and faced strong competition from TVL teams such as Camden and VVS. As the season came to a close our Spartan team finished second in the Division II TVL Championships.
Program goals: Our goals are to provide authentic, competitive opportunities for students of all abilities to play basketball. to allow those students an opportunity to represent their schools, be part of a Varsity team.
