We all use the internet for something, whether that be to look up information for education or just to simply doodle or have fun with it like watching youtube or playing games on it.
Regardless of what you use it for, the internet is available for anybody to use for important research or just a distraction.
“I tend to use the internet to research topics that I need to teach,” Mrs. Clark, an IIT teacher, stated. “I use the internet to find helpful resources for my students,videos and strategies.”
Teachers tend to use the internet to tell their students the assignments for the day/week or to look things up for themselves.
While teachers and staff usually use the internet for school work and to get news, students often use it for work and for fun stuff outside of school.
“It benefits me by interacting with my friends out of school, and looking up information if I need to know certain things, and that’s very beneficial,” Michael Niebuhr, a senior, said.
I also asked Mrs. Clark if she used the internet outside of school and she told me, “I do. I use the internet to read the news and to shop!” proving that the internet has its uses outside of school.
The internet can also provide knowledge for just about any topic you want to look up whether you need to know how something works or where certain locations are.
“It can get you information very quickly that would otherwise take a while to find,”Jeniffer Neal, a Martin Luther King, Jr school teacher, said.
The internet also has youtube which is the home of a lot of different youtubers and content creators who post their stories, animations, and creativity for millions of people around the world to see. People might say cartoons or the internet aren’t the best for you, but much like the best shows that entertain us or have important things to say, the internet is similar in many ways.
It provides important information for work or school assignments, but it also provides a place like youtube for mindless entertainment whenever people need a break from being busy. So the biggest thing to take away from this story is when used positively, the internet can be a great place to go and it might be useful or fun for your tastes.
