The first person that I interviewed was Coach Caruso who coaches varsity wrestling, who was really excited about the fight.
“Anything with Tyson is slightly nostalgic so I was excited to see the fight. The fight was very boring though, and it did not live up to the hype….But he is 60 so I guess that’s fair,” Coach Caruso says.
AC: Who did you want to win?
Coach Caruso: “I would have liked to have seen Tyson win,”
Coach Caruso: “I have seen some stuff online that would make one believe it was rigged, but there is no concrete proof. I would not be surprised at all. The whole ‘Paul vs. whoever old man’ drama is more like a WWE event than a mixed martial art/ boxing event in my opinion. I will say that I do believe Paul to be a ‘real’ boxer. But this was a money-making event. Ya can’t be mad at Tyson for making 20 million dollars in a boxing match in 2024, fake/ script or not.”
The next person that I interviewed was English teacher Mr. Ryan and I asked the following questions.
AC: Did you enjoy watching the fight?
Mr. Ryan: Yes I did– except for Netflix buffering every other minute during the Tyson/Paul fight.”
AC: Who did you want to win?
Mr. Ryan: “I wanted Mike Tyson to win!”
AC: Do you think that the fight was rigged and Mike was paid to lose?
Mr. Ryan: “I do think that. I have seen some slow-motion videos of the fight and he definitely held back. There were times that old ‘Tyson uppercut’ could have taken Paul down, but he didn’t capitalize on it and I think it was because he had to go the distance– that he was paid to go the distance.”
After interviewing a few people I could conclude that the fight could have been rigged but it could have just been Mike Tyson’s old age catching up to him. It could also have been due to the fact that the fight was postponed due to something wrong with Mike’s body. The original date of the match was July 20th of this year.
