New Hartford Senior High is a great place to be first and foremost because of the people.
There are many likable people in New Hartford–students, teachers, and even administrators.
Our dean of students, Mr. Romanow, was a New Hartford student himself. He also worked as a math teacher so he has seen the school through all three perspectives.
“The students are phenomenal to work with, and the faculty is second to none. Our clubs and activities offer an extremely wide range of options and opportunities for students, and our course offerings allow students to formally explore their interests before heading out into the real world,” said Mr. Matt Romanow, dean of students.
Mr. Romanow also said, “The best part about my job is that I get to spend time around the school interacting with students as they move from class to class. While I definitely miss the classroom, I am thrilled to still be able to connect with students each day. Dealing with disciplinary concerns is always difficult, but I appreciate the challenges that moving to this new position has provided.”
It’s not just teachers, students can enjoy the school as well, like my friend MacKenzie Conover.
“I do like New Hartford, and how there’s many different things you can do sportswise. I like how you can go to a game and just have fun,” MacKenzie said.
The new teachers, like my resource teacher Mrs. Anggaputra said that they’re really enjoying their time at this school.
“I’m having a lot of fun,” Mrs. Anggaputra said. “I’m learning a lot. My colleagues are very kind, helpful, and welcoming, and I’m enjoying getting to know the students. I think it’s a great place to work.”
All things considered, I think that New Hartford Senior High is a great school to go to because it offers opportunities for clubs and other activities for students to get involved with. There are great teachers who care about their students and care to put them on the right path. We have off-campus lunch meaning we can go anywhere to eat as long as we’re back to class on time. Overall, our school offers classes that connect with students’ interests in life and set students up for success in the future.
