Students, Teachers, and Community Members Raise $11,000 in Honor of Classmate

New Hartford High School Students came together in Memory of late classmate, Senior Vincent Vivacqua for the 50th annual American Heart association Heart walk/run. The team “Spartans for Vincent” had 92 team members sign up and raised over $11,000 for the American Heart Association. The back of their shirts read “Spread kindness like confetti” – a quote that perfectly embodies the way Vincent lived his life, and the way that we will all live in honor of him.

Senior, Rosalia (Lia) Fornino, is one of the many staff writers on our school newspaper. With her love of reading and writing, being a writer for Spartan Expressions will be very helpful for her in her future plans. Next year Lia is attending Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York to study advertising and public relations with a minor in journalism. One of the most important parts of Lia's life is soccer. She has played since she was very little and is going to continue to play in college at Mount Saint Mary! Lia loves hanging out with her friends and family and her two dogs Auggie and Baci and goldfish George.
