Off The Track and Football Field

On The Football Field 

During his 3 year Varsity football career, Tommy played tight end, linebacker, and punter for the New Hartford Spartans. He had a total of 40 catches, 155 yards gained, and 5 touchdowns on the offensive side while on the defensive side, he had 194 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 4 fumble recoveries, and 3 interceptions. 

 “Playing for New Hartford football was the only thing I cared about and I just wanted to win,” said Tommy.   “The coaches were like parents and overall it was amazing!” 

“He’s a good leader and awesome,” said Dylan Lien, one of Tommy’s teammates.

On The Track 

Tommy Vitagliano started doing track as a junior in high school and quickly rose to be one of the best “throwers” (people who throw shot put or discus in track) on the New Hartford team. 

According to milesplit.com, Tommy has personal bests of 41-10.25 in shot put, 94 feet in discus, and 112-6 feet in javelin . 

“Throwing for track is fun,”  Tommy said.  “ I’m glad I joined.” 

According to Dylan Lien, Tommy acts the same during track and football. His teammates respect Tommy for his leadership and athletic skills.
